Red Sox in 1st place, Rays & Yanks? Cellar!

This is the way to start off the season!

Beckett spins a gem: 7 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 10 K's!

As previously posted, 8 of 9 starters had hits, including HR's by Pedroia (1st inning, his 2nd pitch) and Captain 'Tek. Mike Lowell had an RBI double, Youk went 2 for 4, Papelbon got the save.

Only 24 hours into the '09 season, Red Sox are tied for 1st place, with the Yankees and Rays tied for last place.
