Buchholz bounces back

Clay Buchholz pitched 7 quality innings today as he bounced back from his train wreck in Oakland last week. While he did walk 3 and gave up a HR, he also gave up only 4 hits and 1 run while striking out 6 Mariners, leaving him with a 2.48 ERA. Hopefully, this will put him back on track for the Cy Young Award. Hideki Okajima pitched another scoreless inning. Atchison continues to be a rock solid anchor in the bullpen, as he pitched a 1-2-3 9th inning on 10 pitches while lowering his ERA to 3.58.

The Red Sox amassed 10 hits in a well balanced offensive attack. Marco Scutaro, playing 2nd base, went 3 for 4 and scored 2 runs. Rookies Kalish, Reddick, and Anderson all had at least 1 hit.
