Jays shellac Lackey, late Sox rally falls short

Lackey must be taking lessons from Dice-K. One game he's hot, the next, not. The Toronto Blue Jay beat the snot out of Lackey tonight: 4.1 IP, 8 hits, 7 runs, 2 BB's, 3 K's. Bowden wasn't too sharp tonight, either:

Toronto had raced out to a 10-2 lead going into the bottom of the 6th went the Sox bats started rumbling again. Three runs in the 6th and 2 runs in the 8th made it an 11- 7 game. The Sox came up with 2 more runs in the 9th, but that was all she wrote. L, 11-9.

Seven of nine Sox starters had at least 1 hit, Two of 4 pinch hitters got hits. Victor Martinez led the Sox tonight going 2/5, both hits HR's, 2 runs and 5 RBI's.
