As part of the Rally Against Cancer campaign, Fenway West received limited edition Boston Red Sox/Jimmy Fund/Rally Against Cancer hats if $1000 or more was raised, pictured above. Well, we are actually at exactly $1000 right now. The Jimmy Fund logo is on the other side, and the Rally Against Cancer logo is across the back. Some will be donated to the Northern California Jimmy Fund Benefit event and some will be held in reserve for next year's Rock and Sox Benefit with The Cancer Sucks Band.
I will send a hat to the first 12 people who make a donation of at least $20 by September 30th to The Jimmy Fund at the Rally Against Cancer page, (but don't click on 'donate anonymously', I need to know who made the donation.). After you have made the donation, please send an e-mail to: RockAndSox (at) g mail (dot) com with your mailing address. I will be checking the Rally Against Cancer page and the RockAndSox in box daily and will post when all the hats have been given away. (If you're not sure if they have all been given away, check the site. There are 10 names there now, any names past the first 10 are the hat winners.)
Also, as previously posted, we have 2 signed baseballs, one by Dice-K and one by V-Mart, up for auction on eBay, with proceeds going to the Jimmy Fund. Bidding on these 2 balls ends August 22nd, 1 week from today.
UPDATE: Since this first went up on Fenway West on August 15th, 4 hats have already been sent to donors, leaving 8 still available if donation is made before September 30th.
